GIDGET | BOOMERANG BEACH
Gidget is a modern take on the Australian beach house. This three-bedroom luxury home is all about relaxing amid the beauty of Boomerang Beach.
Designed around a lush tropical courtyard and positioned to capture dappled sunlight all day long on her spacious entertainers’ deck. Alternatively, you can hit the beach located just across the road- it’s so close you won’t even need to take a towel!
Gidget began life as one of Boomerang Beach’s earliest humble beachside cottages. In 2010 talented local builder and designer ‘Gav’ created an exceptional and contemporary addition, with bespoke interior details and finishes blending the existing cottage with the new form.
Her main living area (kitchen, dining, living and outdoor deck) connects the two ‘sleeping’ wings at either end of the property allowing parents and children, or groups of friends, to enjoy their privacy at night. Beautiful local reclaimed blackbutt timber features throughout, and Gidget’s showstopping rammed earth walls create a cosy backdrop for the fireplace in winter and for her outdoor deck in summer. Gidget has been designed to make the most of her sunny aspect with large sliding doors opening out onto her beautiful setting and tropical location.
A little more about Gidget’s finer points:
Main Dining & Living Area: In the summer months the main living area is cooled by the operable louvre windows and large sliding doors allowing the sea breeze to keep the space cool, with ceiling fans and AC also in place. In the few colder months, Gidget lights the fireplace for the ultimate cosy space. Furnished with a large modular lounge and generous dining table it’s a pleasure to kick back in here anytime of the year!
Kitchen: Gidget loves to cook, and her kitchen seems to be a popular gathering point. With a large uninterrupted island bench, Westinghouse oven and gas cook top, high quality utensils and Nespresso coffee machine (specialty coffee pods supplied!) it’s easy to enjoy time cooking up delicious feasts.
Outdoor Deck & Courtyard Area: Flowing directly from the main living and kitchen area, Gidget’s deck and outdoor seating is large enough to seat families and friends amongst the tropical lush setting. There is a Weber BBQ which we are sure you will make use of (maybe for the fish you catch!). Gidget likes chilled rosè and Wallis Lake oysters on the deck with friends, followed by a barbecue…..and more rosè.
Outdoor Shower: After a full day’s surfing, Gidget hits the hotwater shower in the private courtyard.
Second Living Area, Bathroom & Laundry: Gidget realises that a good holiday is a peaceful holiday, so the separate lounge room is equipped with an additional TV suitable for relaxation or for when the kids need “quiet time” and the parents do too!
The two bedrooms at the front of the house have their own bathroom, and the shower door opens onto the tropical garden (no need for an exhaust fan here).
Gidget’s cossies and beach towels are kept fresh by the front loader washing machine and separate tumble dryer.
Bedrooms: Bedroom One has a king bed (or two singles) along with a study area (for when Gidget needs to stay connected to work). It features a beautiful rammed-earth wall and looks out to the front garden.
Bedroom Two has a king bed (or two singles) and looks out to the stunning tropical setting.
Bedroom Three (Master) is located at the furthest end of the house and has a king bed and luxury ensuite with separate shower and bath.
Please note Gidget has provided all linen for your stay. Doona's, doona covers, mattress protectors, pillows & pillow protectors are also provided. Who needs washing- it’s a holiday, people!
